Volunteer
Welcome and thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Rowe School PTO! Whether you can help one day or once a month, we value any amount of time you are able to give.
ADD ME TO THE PTO VOLUNTEER EMAIL LIST
Please complete this form to let us know if you would like to be contacted about volunteer opportunities and whether you are interested in learning more about our open leadership positions. This form does not obligate you to participate but will simply add you to the list to be contacted as volunteer opportunities arise. Contact president@roweschoolpto.org with any questions.
BECOME AN APPROVED PPS VOLUNTEER
Anyone who would like to volunteer at Rowe during school hours will need to complete a the Family Volunteer Application. The process can take up to 2 weeks, and approvals are good and valid for 3 years. If you have questions about whether you are approved, please contact Colby Senior at 207-874-4657 or senioc@portlandschools.org.
Current Volunteer Opportunities
Walk-a-thon
Want to join in on the fun? Volunteer for Walk-A-Thon!
What does a Walk-A-Thon volunteering look like? Cheering on the kids on, making sure everyone is following the route, and lap scanning.
Garden crew
Love being outdoors? Want to help keep our school’s garden thriving? Join the Garden Crew! Whether you’re a seasoned green thumb or just eager to pitch in, we’d love to have you on the team. Sign up and grow with us!
Flu clinic
We need a few volunteers at this year's Flu Clinic on October 27 between 9-11 am. We are looking for adults who can help walk kids to and from class and provide some TLC while MaineHealth administers the vaccinations.
Room ParenT
Room Parents serve as a link between the classroom teacher and families of students by organizing classroom support in the form of contributions and volunteers. Room Parents also help build community by organizing a classroom directory and facilitating communications. Room Parents will also help organize at least one grade-wide community event like a playground meet-up. Time commitment can vary, but typically 2-3 hours per month.
Recess runners
The Recess Runners Program is a fun, active initiative where students run, jog, or walk laps around the playground loop during recess. Volunteers play a key role by supporting students during recess, tracking laps, cheering them on, and keeping the program running smoothly and safely. If you can give an hour, during the middle of the day, your presence makes a huge difference.
Fifth Grade Farewell Committee
If you are interested in being part of the FIfth Grade Farewell planning committee, please contact Ashley at president@roweschoolpto.org. This committee will work with the PTO and the Fifth Grade Teaching Team to plan end-of-school events for our 5th Graders before they head to middle school!
