Each April the PTO accepts nominations for Executive Committee positions. The nominations are voted on in May which then determines the makeup of the Executive Committee moving forward. Members of the Executive Committee may serve two consecutive terms in the same role.
Executive Committee roles are as follows:
President - Presides at the meetings of the Executive Committee and at all regular meetings of the PTO. The President performs any other duties as assigned to him/her by the PTO. He/she is an ex officio member of all committees.
Vice President - Works as an aide to the President and in the event of absence or resignation of the President, shall carry out the President’s duties. He/She will solicit and organize the Room Parents and serve as a key communicator with them. He/She may also be chairperson of one of the standing committees according to his/her capabilities and/or interests. He/She is responsible for organizing a committee of three to review the PTO’s bylaws every four years to ensure their current appropriateness.
The Community Building Chair - Works to structure and implement community building activities throughout the year. The Community Building Chair leads the Community Building and Engagement Committee.
The Fundraising Chair - Works to structure and implement all school-wide fundraising events and efforts throughout the year. The Fundraising Chair leads the Fundraising Committee.
The Secretary - Records/types, keeps and shares the minutes of all the regular and Executive meetings of the PTO. The Secretary helps with and coordinates the PTO’s general correspondence through newsletters, flyers, etc.
The Treasurer - Receives and has charge of all monies of the PTO. The Treasurer is responsible for paying all bills in a timely fashion which have been approved and authorized by the PTO, file all applicable tax documents, and give an itemized report of the receipts and disbursements at each meeting.

The Greening Committee - This committee consists of teachers and parents whose responsibilities include maintaining and upgrading Rowe School’s grounds. The Learning Garden Committee will be an arm of this committee.
The Community Building and Engagement Committee - This committee consists of teachers and parents whose responsibilities include planning and implementing whole-school, community building, and educational events. This committee will be led by the Community Building Chair. These school wide events may include (but are not limited to); Potlucks, Bingo Nights, Skate Nights, Sea Dogs game, Winterfest, Teacher Appreciation, Parent Volunteer Night and arranging Parent Engagement at the monthly meetings.
The Fundraising Committee - This committee consists of teachers and parents whose responsibilities include planning and organizing all fundraising events. This committee will be led by the Fundraising Chair. These school wide efforts may include (but are not limited to) the Walk-a-Thon, 5K/Fun Run, Calendar Raffle, Auction, Restaurant Fundraisers, Book Fair, Spirit Wear, Box Tops, Clynk and Annual Direct Appeal.
The Winterfest Committee - This committee consists of teachers and parents whose responsibilities include planning and organizing the annual Winterfest event. The Community Building Chair will oversee this committee.
The Teacher Appreciation Committee - This committee is charged with planning, organizing, and carrying out the activities intended to recognize the efforts of teachers and the school staff. The specific type and format of these activities/events will be determined each year by the membership.
